Travelling to India for plastic or aesthetic surgery is a significant decision, and good planning should begin well before the flight is booked.
At SB Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery Hospital in Gurugram, the international-patient journey usually begins with an initial conversation with our team, followed by a remote consultation with the surgeon. This allows us to understand your concerns, review relevant medical history and photographs, discuss the procedure you are considering and begin provisional treatment and travel planning.
International-patient enquiries are handled by reception and a dedicated three-member team that assists with consultation, procedure-related questions and practical preparation for your visit to SB Aesthetics.

During the initial planning stage, you may be asked to share details of previous surgeries, current medicines and supplements, allergies, relevant medical conditions and any investigations or records that could help with the assessment.
The coordinator can also discuss the estimated treatment cost, accepted payment methods and any booking advance required for the proposed surgery date.
A remote consultation is useful for planning, but the final surgical decision is made after an in-person examination at SB Aesthetics. Your surgeon may modify the preliminary plan if the examination or investigations indicate that a different approach would be more appropriate.

For patients travelling to India specifically for treatment, SB Aesthetics can issue the medical visa invitation letter and relevant treatment documentation required for the visa application.
You then apply for the Medical Visa or e-Medical Visa directly through the Government of India or the Indian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate responsible for your place of residence.
If an attendant is travelling with you, share their full name and passport number exactly as they appear on the passport, along with your own details, so the appropriate information can be included in the invitation documentation.
For international patients coming to SB Aesthetics for surgery, we ask that you travel with an adult attendant or companion who can assist around admission, discharge, transport and the early recovery period.
Most international patients arriving by air travel through Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and continue by road to Gurugram.
SB Aesthetics can assist with arranging local pick-up and drop services and can share nearby hotel and short-stay accommodation options across different budgets, allowing patients to remain close to the hospital during treatment and early recovery.
We generally recommend that international surgical patients plan approximately 14–21 days in India, although the appropriate stay depends on the procedure and individual recovery.

Allow some time before surgery for your in-person consultation, investigations and any specialist clearance that may be required. At SB Aesthetics, patients above 40 undergoing a major or prolonged surgery are required to have a pre-operative cardiac evaluation, with further investigation or specialist clearance arranged where necessary.
Recovery is part of the treatment journey, rather than something that begins only after you leave the hospital.
At SB Aesthetics, postoperative care extends beyond the immediate surgical follow-up. Depending on your procedure and recovery, the care plan may include dietetic guidance, physiotherapy and radiofrequency (RF) massage where clinically appropriate, alongside your scheduled postoperative reviews.
International patients should stay close enough to attend the reviews recommended by their surgeon and avoid planning the early recovery period as a sightseeing holiday.
Make sure you also have international health insurance for your stay and confirm with your insurer beforehand whether planned plastic or aesthetic surgery, postoperative complications and related medical care are covered.

There is no universal day on which every patient is ready to fly after plastic surgery.
Your procedure, mobility, wound healing, swelling, personal blood-clot risk, duration of the journey and overall recovery all influence when travelling home is appropriate.
Before your return journey, obtain a Fit to Fly certificate from the treating team at SB Aesthetics. Your airline may also have its own medical-clearance requirements following recent surgery, so these should be checked separately.
A flexible return ticket is often more practical than planning the entire journey around the shortest possible stay.
For an international patient travelling to SB Aesthetics, the journey is therefore best planned in stages: consult with us first, prepare the medical and travel documentation, arrive with enough time for assessment, recover locally with appropriate follow-up, and travel home when you are clinically ready to do so.
