Breas-t Lift Surgery in Delhi, India

With increasing age, a woman's breas-ts often change over time, as they lose their fat, firmness, and shape. A breas-t lift, or mastopexy, helps to rejuvenate the figure with a defined breas-t profile that is more uplifted and youthful, by removing the excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue of the breas-t.

The loss of skin elasticity and change in the breas-t profile occurs due to various factors such as aging, gravity, genetics, disease, weight fluctuations, hormonal fluctuations, breas-tfeeding, and pregnancy. These factors cause the breas-ts to sag and areola to enlarge and point downwards.

With a minimally invasive procedure of breas-t lift, one can achieve the most considerable degree of lift and restore shapelier breas-ts and achieve a perky and youthful appearance. This surgery can be done before or after childbearing. However, pregnancy and breas-tfeeding can reverse the benefits and improvements provided by breas-t lift surgery. If someone is planning to have children or would like to lose weight, it is advised to achieve these milestones, before having breas-t lift surgery in Delhi.

What is Breas-t Lift Surgery?

Breas-t lift surgery, also called mastopexy, is used to correct droopy or sagging breas-ts. The procedure removes excess skin from in and around the breas-ts that has been stretched during pregnancy and weight fluctuations or old age. Breas-t implants may also be used in conjunction with this procedure to achieve the desired results.

When to Consider a Breas-t Lift?

  • Pregnancy, nursing, gravity, weight gain or loss, normal aging, and heredity have taken a toll on the shape of the breas-ts, resulting in sagging
  • If the surgeon thinks that breas-t implants alone are unlikely to achieve the contour one desires
  • If the tissue surrounding the nipple or areola has become stretched

How to get ready for breas-t lift surgery?

  • Consult with a highly-qualified plastic surgeon.
  • Share the desired goals associated with surgery.
  • To get effective results from breas-t lift surgery in India, share all the details about underlying and current medical conditions, drug allergies, and any on-going medical treatments with the surgeon.
  • Inform the surgeon if there's a family history of breas-t cancer.
  • Discuss the outcomes, risks, and potential complications with the surgery.

Breas-t lift surgery is a very safe procedure, however, depending on an individual's health conditions there may be chances of complications.  This is why it is crucial to be completely transparent with the surgeon. It is essential to understand all the aspects (pros & cons) of any surgery before actually proceeding with the same.

The surgeon will advise various tests including:

  • Blood tests.
  • Physical examination of the breas-ts, and will take a detailed measurement of the size, shape, skin quality, and also determine the new position of the nipples and areolas.
  • Medical history evaluation.
  • Mammogram or ultrasound of the breas-ts.

Who are ideal candidates for breas-t lift surgery?

The following are some common reasons why one may want to consider a breas-t lift:

  • Females bothered about their sagging breas-ts and their lost shape and volume.
  • Nonsmokers.
  • Have stretched skin and enlarged areolas.
  • Have good physical health and can maintain a stable weight.
  • Have realistic expectations.
  • Have breas-ts that are flatter, elongated shape, or are pendulous.
  • The nipples fall below the breas-t crease if they are unsupported.
  • Breas-ts that appear different from each other; one breas-t may appear firm and well positioned while the other does not.
  • Breas-ts that lack substance or firmness.
  • Breas-ts that are large and heavy can be lifted, but the results may not be as long-lasting as a breas-t lift performed on smaller breas-ts; the weight of larger breas-ts works against surgical changes.
  • One is finished with childbearing and breas-t-feeding. If one is planning to have children, they may want to postpone cosmetic breas-t surgery. Pregnancy may stretch the breas-ts and reduce their volume, compromising surgery benefits.

Note: In many cases, breas-ts look deflated or have lost volume after weight loss, or because of aging and pregnancy, in such cases, the procedure such as breas-t augmentation or breas-t implant can also be performed along with a breas-t lift surgery in Delhi to restore fullness and give an ideal shape to the breas-ts. For larger lifted breas-ts, a breas-t lift and breas-t augmentation with implants can be performed in conjunction to achieve the desired results in a single procedure.

Benefits of breas-t lift surgery

  • It provides a firmer, perkier, and aesthetically pleasing breas-t shape by lifting the sagging and hanging breas-ts.
  • One can wear their favorite dress, swimsuits, and bikinis after the surgery.
  • It helps achieve the desired breas-t contour in proportion to the rest of the body.
  • It helps to restore better breas-t shape and contour after pregnancy, breas-tfeeding, and significant weight loss.

Procedure time: 3-4 hours (depending upon the extent of the surgery).

Anesthesia
General anesthesia is administered and the patient is completely asleep. The procedure can also be performed under intravenous sedation and local anesthesia.

What are the steps of breas-t lift surgery?

Step 1. The surgeon will draw incision guidelines on the breas-t. The size of the areola can also be reduced, and the incision guidelines will show this change.
Step 2. The local or general anesthesia is administered to provide comfort during the surgical procedure.
Step 3. The breas-t lift surgery in India can be performed by a variety of incision patterns and techniques. The appropriate technique, suitable for the patient depends upon the degree of breas-t sagging, breas-t shape and size, position and size of areolas, and skin quality and elasticity. The incision can be made around the areola and vertically down from the areola to the crease of the breas-t (lollipop incision), or around the areola, both vertically down or horizontally around the breas-t crease (anchor incision mastopexy) Further, depending upon the incision technique, the incisions are made along the pre-marked lines and using a variety of instruments, the surgeon rearranges the breas-t parenchyma.
Step 4. The excess skin is removed, breas-t tissue is lifted and reshaped, and the remaining skin is tightened to improve breas-t contour and firmness. The areolas and nipples are repositioned, to a youthful height.
Step 5. Large areolas are reduced in size (perimeter) and are repositioned in the forward-facing position.
Step 6. Incisions are closed by using dissolvable sutures, and surgical drains may need to be placed inside each breas-t. Some incision lines are concealed in the natural breas-t contour, and some may be visible on the surface of the breas-t. These incisions will fade and significantly improve over time.
Step 7. Dressings are applied to protect the incision site.
Step 8. The compression garment is to be worn to reduce swelling and fluid buildup. The surgeon will provide pain medication to help the patient feel comfortable after the surgery.

The surgical drains if placed, are removed in a day or two of the surgery and stitches dissolve after 4-5 weeks.

What results can I expect?

  • One can notice a significant improvement in the shape and position of their breas-ts immediately after the procedure.
  • Final results are reflected after a year, and the scars may slowly fade away with time.

The results offered by breas-t lift surgery are long-lasting, but over time, increasing age and gravity can bring changes in the breas-t profile. One can retain the results for a longer time by maintaining a stable weight and adopting a healthy lifestyle.
